What United Warangal means
United Warangal (ఉమ్మడి వరంగల్) is a regional, historical and cultural identity. It is not a current administrative district. Since 2016 the area of the old Warangal district has been governed as six separate districts: Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mahabubabad and Mulugu. We always show which district a place or event belongs to.
What ties them together is a shared history as Orugallu, the Kakatiya capital, and a living culture of temples, jataras, weaving and food that people still travel across district lines for.
